Disability Support Worker - Rockhampton

About the role

As a Disability Support Worker, working within our Supported Independent Living homes, you'll provide person-centred support that empowers people with disability to build independence, confidence and connection. No two days are the same - one day you might be supporting someone to learn new life skills, the next helping them get out into the community or achieve a personal goal.

This role requires full availability across Mondays to Sundays for multiple sleepovers, morning and afternoon and weekend shifts per fortnight. Permanent part time hours ranging up to 55 per fortnight, located at various SIL homes in Rockhampton. Ideal experience in applicants of SIL environment, Cert 3 in induvial Support, disability or aged care advantageous and with experience & trained in complex behaviours and trauma informed clients.

What we're looking for

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous
• Person centred approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Reliability and a positive, can-do attitude
• Availability to work a range of shifts (including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers - penalty rates apply)
• The capacity to meet the physical requirements as manual handling tasks are involved

You will be required to hold or willing to obtain

• Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• National Criminal History Check (Police Check)
• Australian open Driver's License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle
